WorkingHoliday Connection

Hi my lovely readers!

I am back with my food review non other than PANCAKES!

Before I went back to my country for a month, I thought of doing a food hunting video around Harajuku. I had picked out 3 places that I wanted to try. All of these cafes were my first time trying them. So here is the link for the video. Hope you guys enjoy it!

In this post I would like to do a review on one of the cafes that I went which is the WORKINGHOLIDAY CONNECTION CAFE. This cafe is located as the same row as the Tokyu Plaza in Harajuku. It is located at the 2nd floor of the YM SQUARE Harajuku building, the same floor as the WEGO and in the same building with the KAWAII MONSTER CAFE (which I will be trying out soon).

The cafe is quite big for a Japanese cafe. It is very “International”. The waitress there could speak English and some other languages, all written at their name tags. So if you can’t speak Japanese, not to worry, they can speak English. Not just that, their chefs are all non Japanese people.

Here is the menu that they have.

I picked out the original pancake of course and it cost me 1,200yen. I wouldn’t say the cafe here is cheap because the GRAMS you can definitely get cheaper price and as you can see in the menu, the original pancake is like the CHEAPEST pancake that they have. However, you will get the best pancake from the price duh.

This is the Original Pancake!

It is very soft like softer than the gram pancakes. I saw the chef beat the mixture until it is super thick so that it could be as soft and light as the sugar candy. However, like I said in the video, the taste of the egg is quite strong but that is why they served it with the maple syrup, whipping cream, ice cream and some bananas. I would say that the whipping cream is not that sweet but you don’t need everything sweet right. If you mixed it all together, the sweetness of the maple syrup and ice cream combined with the saltiness of the pancake, its PERFECT combination. Recommending it to all the pancakes lovers out there.

Hey everyone! It has been a really long time since my last post and guess what? Its 2018 already! Before I  get started with my 2018 stuff, I just wanted to share with you guys another best thing that had happened in my life in 2017.

I guess 2017 is a dream come true year for me. i achieved many of my dreams in 2017.

– study in Japan

– making blog

– buy a camera

– meeting Jaejoong

– lots more other stuff

And one last thing that I’ve been waiting for so long for 10 years is meeting Jaejoong’s former group, TVXQ=DBSK=TOHOSHINKI.

TVXQ debuted in December 2003 with 5 members, U-know Yunho, Micky Yoochun, Xia Junsu, Hero Jaejoong and Max Changmin. But after 7 years, in 2010 they separated into two groups, JYJ (JAEJOONG, YOOCHUN, JUNSU) and TVXQ (CHANGMIN, YUNHO) because of several problems that had occured between SM Entertainment and the three members. Despite their break up, I do still support and love them the same as five. TVXQ was actually like the first ever KPOP group to BOOM in Japan. So if you ask any of the Japanese if they know TOHOSHINKI, they would probably said yes. Not just that, they even speaks Japanese better than me. hahaha. Of course, they’ve learnt it since their first Japanese album in 2005.

On 20th December 2017, I’ve achieved my dream on meeting TVXQ real life. The best part was it was held in TOKYO DOME and I’ve always been dreaming to see their concert at Tokyo Dome. Of course my dream was actually to see them perform as five but they are still TVXQ and I won’t miss my chances on meeting them.

About the tickets, I got to see really close with the stage but it was side stage seat. As usual the S seat tickets sold out really fast like a second. But I was still happy with my seat cause it was quite close with the stage and I could see them clearly when the stage moves toward my place.

However, despite the fun, the day of the concert was actually Jonghyn’s funeral day and I thought that the concert will be cancelled but it didn’t. The concert was really fun but it was really sad too. I could see them struggle a lot during the concert to do their best for their fans. The concert was actually their Japanese album ‘BEGIN AGAIN’ concert plus REBOOT. Begin Again was actually their theme to reappear again doing concert/work/etc after a long break because both of them were in army. What they did for the album was they did not actually produce everything as new songs but to compile old songs and they did re-record some of their 5 members songs again to produce as new. I was really heartbroken actually when they re-record the songs because for me all of their old songs were meant to be sang as 5 not 2. They even re-record my fav song “DOUSHITE…..”(I’m crying). The opening of the concert was the song ReBoot and also some of pop songs with more dance moves and it was really really good. But suddenly they sang ‘SURVIVOR’ which was the old songs (5 members) and I was really shocked by that. But still I enjoyed it. But by the time they started singing their ballad songs, things were okay at first cause I love all of their songs especially ballads but suddenly ‘Bolero’ came out and my tears just couldn’t hold it anymore. The second I heard it my tears were falling down all over my face. And in my head was like “oh nooo, this part is Jaejoong’s, this part is Junsu’s , this part is Yoochun’s”. But even as two, they did a very good job performing that song. After that they still did sing some of their old song but it was not the ballad songs and luckily they didn’t sing ‘Doushite’ or else I don’t even know how will I be able to handle that. The best part the concert was I actually being able to see their dance and Changmin’s high note real life. DAMN, ‘Catch Me’ dance was so lit like OMG! As their ending, they sang, of course ‘BEGIN’ song which was also the old songs that they re-recorded it as two and it was really really unbearable for me. But it was perfect tho. The starting of the song was “泣きたい時は泣けばいいからね、無理はしないで。” The meaning is like you can just cry if you want to cry kind of meaning. Hello!! I AM CRYING! It was so sad and Yoochun’s voice was inside of my head instead of Yunho’s cause it was originally Yoochun’s. The struggle for the fans are OMG!!! At the end, they gave a bit of their speech and Changmin said that we have to like appreciate people around us and and take care of them of our family and his last words before he cried and went backstage was “彼のこと忘れないでください” which means “Don’t forget about him (Jonghyun)” and all the fans were crying including me of course. I couldn’t help it okay, I mean who can if you’re a fan like me. I did follow SHINEE since their debut and of course I do feel the loss of Jonghyun. If it was someone from any new group died, I might not feel anything (Sorry). I did have so much fun during the concert although I was crying. I was really happy I could actually be in the red ocean and sing along during the certain part of the songs when the fans cheer together. It was so much fun and I am definitely going to their concert again. Why wouldn’t I.

So literally that was about the concert. It was such a dramatic concert but full of fun. About the merchandise, they actually opened like I don’t know 30-40 counters or more I guess. I bought the light stick which cost me 1000yen. I thought it was cheap but actually it was not cause you actually have to buy 2 of it and a 500yen connector if you want to make a T-shaped light so it actually cost 2500 yen the same as Jaejoong’s hahaha. And I also bought a candle holder because it was so so pretty with the diamond shaped as the holder and a crow on top with TOHOSHINKI written on it. I was actually confused if I should buy the t-shirt or not and I ended up buying it the next day(they still had concert the next day) during my 3rd period because I don’t have classes that time. Luckily Tokyo Dome isn’t that far from Shibaura and I was able to get into my 5th period class on time. I wore that shirt when I went to their BEGIN AGAIN CAFE (a guest cafe for a month).

Thats it about my post today. It was such a precious moment for me and something that I thing would remember forever in my life. Thanks guys for reading this. And yes more post coming soon.

10 Years and Finally…

Hi guys! It has been so long since my last post. I knowwww. I’ve been quite busy lately and when the days when I’m not busy, I was so busy doing something else. But this one, I can’t missed out posting it.

As you guys know me, my nickname or in every social media, my name is Zatyjaejoong. Cause I’m so obsessed with him for over the last 10years. Not just him okay, this include his group which is JYJ or TVXQ(which he was before till SM….) but I love him the most.

Jaejoong and also his group members are so famous in Japan. They are like the first Kpop group to be so well known in Japan years ago till now still could put up their name. If you guys ask Japanese, “do you guys know TOHOSHINKI, they’ll probably say YES”. (Tohoshinki is the Japanese name of TVXQ) Not just that but Jaejoong does has his own cafe, mall and also I think a salon in a building in SHIBUYA called KAVE just the opposite of Forever21. I did go to the cafe and I will do a review about it soon but I still haven’t tried JJ’s premium dessert so I’m waiting for that till I could post it in my blog.

Back to the main topic of this post.

After 10 years waiting, loving, supporting Kim Jaejoong, I have finally got to meet him in REAL LIFE!!!(I am screaming *excited*)

Last week, on 9&10th December 2017, he did a fan meeting here in Japan. Cause I got baito (part time job) on the 9th so I bought the ticket for the 10th. Buying Jaejong’s ticket ain’t easy. Its like battling for dUCk’s LE. I didn’t know how to buy the tickets actually. It says that in the website I could buy it form Lawson. So there is this Lawson website where I need to purchase the ticket there and pay it at lawson counter. The second it starts to sell, I quickly click on the button and all and guess what!!!….. I didn’t sign up and I’ve wasted 10minutes signing up in front of the Lawson and the ticket SOLD OUT the second I’ve finished signing up. Stress like seriously STRESSED OUT. I didn’t know that I could actually buy from the Loppi machine at Lawson cause it has that code number at the Lawson website for the ticket and I missed it. So I need to aim for the tickets that gonna be selling next week and guess what!! I was so tired that night that I woke up late on that day and totally forgot about the ticket. How unlucky I am😭. But don’t worry my battle ain’t over yet. I won’t give up ya know. I’m just so lucky that my senpai introduced to me this one app which I could buy the tickets from the reseller. It is called “Ticket Camp”. Thanks to my senpai I got mine there. I bought two, one for a friend I know from Instagram cause we share the same interest towards TVXQ. I love meeting another Cassiopeia/Big East😻. Her name is Yuni btw, and she has a youtube channel too!

Tips: do buy the ticket last minute cause it will be cheaper.

On my big day, of course I chose Red as my outfit colour cause its TVXQ theme colour. I bought Jaejoong’s sweatshirt in white and has ‘BORN FREE ONE KISS’ written on it in red and matching it with my red fluff duck. I bought the sweatshirt at the KAVEMall in Shibuya or you can just buy it online at Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

It took me about an hour and a half to get there from my house cause it was held at Musashino no Mori General Sports Plaza. The train was totally packed with Jaejoong lovers, I don’t even need to google to go to that place. I arrived around 20 minutes before it started. the first thing to do of course to buy the Jaejoong Light Stick. I thought it was around 1000yen but it was 2500yen and most of the goodies had sold out even a blanket cost 9000yen sold out. Jaejoong’s fans are crazy just like me.

The event started at 4pm. So the mc started the show and when he called Jaejoong out, I was like literally can’t believe my eyes and was crying and shouting for him. Can you imagine it. For 10 years. I thought I won’t get the chance but it all came true😭😭😭. I know I didn’t see him like he was right directly a standing in front of me. My seat was quite far but, hello, I still could see him real life. Can you imagine how happy and excited I am. Japan rules is that you can’t record/take pictures with any celebrities during fan meeting or concert. They are really strict about piracy and stuff.

The event was like a game show. It started with Q&A SESSION for Jaejoong to answer. He was being so cute and funny even though he described himself as “kakkoii” but he was totally being “kawaii” instead😻. It was super funny I couldn’t stop laughing and smiling tho. Even my cheeks hurt. And then it was Jaejoong’s turn to ask his fan on how well his fans know about him. Whoever got the answers correct will get a Tumblr with his sign on it. Of course the people sitting in front will get the chance to answer the questions. And then it had some games for Jaejoong, tasting food game was fun tho. And also that card picking game and you have to make a story about the situation given using the item in the card that you had picked out kinda game, it was so damn funny. Especially the part Jaejoong making story about there is no toilet paper in the toilet. So he only had ‘God, hair drier and medicine’ card and he had to say “unci=faeces” 😹. I think I did record that part. The last part was his singing slot. It was so so so amazing. Hearing Jaejoong singing real life…. dream come true. We even did singing along part. And there is this one time Jaejoong disappear cause he said it was the last song, and everyone was calling his name ‘Jaejoong’ asking him to come out and he came out after few minutes and started singing another song. I was so blessed that day. I don’t want it to be over. i was crying when it has over. I mean like NOOO!!! DON’T GO! PLEASE! I DON’T WANT THIS TO END SO SOON! 😭 I will definitely go to his next event next year cause he said there will be next year! Thank you to some of you that had been supporting me in this 😭😭😭😘😘

The Red Ocean that I’ve longed to be part of it

Hey again!

New semester had just started so I’m quite free but well report is coming soon so hahaha. Welcome back to normal student life. Lets get to the point shall we.

If you know me, I love pretty things especially food. I LOVE DESSERT AND LOVE TO MAKE THEM. Basically, I love sweet stuff plus pretty and also spicy food. One of my fav dessert is PANCAKE. I don’t know if it is categorized as a dessert or breakfast meal but for me pancake is my breakfast and dessert. Yum yum. I really love when my mom makes pancake for breakfast. I ate most of em. Well, starting with three pieces of pancakes (slices or pieces?) with maple syrup and vanilla ice cream and sometimes with chocolate sauce( if I have it in the fridge) and then I’ll eat another 2 or 3 more pancakes. 3 isn’t enough you know. Its breakfast! If I go to McDonald for breakfast, my usual set will be pancake of course. I love their maple syrup and the pancake so big but I think they should add one more slice. haha. So that is just the story of how much I love pancake but today I’m gonna write a review maybe. Kind of.

I went to Osaka with my family last Christmas. So me, my mom n my sister were waiting for my brothers and my dad buying some shoes or clothes I don’t know. We went to this cafe called gram at the Shinsaibashi street. I saw this fluffy pancake but they only sell it on limited time at 11am, 3pm and 6pm but I got there around 7pm so I couldn’t order that. So we just ordered  fruit French toast and the other one was classic pancake and tea. The cafe had this rule where everyone needs to order at least one thing in the menu. So we had to order three things because there were 3 of us. The pancake was quite big but not as big as the McDonald’s pancake. It was just slightly bigger than a normal size but not a big difference. It was so soft and when mixed with fruits, so yummy and yes of course sweet. Luckily we ordered the tea and got free plain water. I was so excited because I got to eat the pancake. Sorry but I don’t have the picture of it. So that was the pancake that I got during my family holiday. It was unplanned pancake day. Yeay for me.

I went there again with my friend during the Golden Week cause I went to Osaka and again I didn’t manage to get the fluffy pancake. Instead we ordered tiramisu pancake for me and classic for my friend. Again I give a thumbs up for gram pancake. They seriously make a very soft pancake even if its not the fluffy one and it is so big. We couldn’t finish em and I was feeling so sad that I couldn’t finish it because pancake is my fav food but I’m so full that time. But I still feel glad that I could eat pancake cause I didn’t get to eat pancake ever since I come to Japan and that was my first. I was so happy cause I was craving and dying for pancakes.

When I got back to Tokyo, I thought of doing pancake hunting but of course it requires money. And also I still want to try the fluffy pancake they sell in gram cafe.  So I did research and I found they have GRAM CAFE in TOKYO. YEAYYYYY!!! It is located in Harajuku along the Takeshita Street. So one fine Saturday, I decided to go there. I reach there around 3.30pm so I thought I could try the fluffy pancake. But 😭😭😭I didn’t know that they distribute ticket one hour earlier for that pancake and I cried cause I didn’t get to eat them. It was so heartbreaking and I didn’t have any mood at all after that. so after a while I regain my mood and I decided to come again on Monday.

This is the Takeshita street

you’ll find this crepe stall and there is a junction to gram on the left.

the gram cafe in HARAJUKU

I went there again and reached there around 2.30pm and I was like “YES! I GOT IT” was so excited. my number was 16 and my turn will be on 4.30pm. I was really shocked that time. I need to wait again WHAT! I thought I could just eat at 3pm but I was wrong😭😭😭. So I went for shopping at Harajuku. Bought some clothes and some souvenirs for my family. Till it was almost 4.30pm I went to have my fluffy pancake. That was my lunch actually. I just gave me my ticket number and then wait for my pancake. hihi. So excited. When it has arrived I was so happy and OMG MY DREAM CAME TRUE😍😍😍. I can see it was so fluffy and jiggly and the person beside me was like “wow! I want that one too! So fluffy” and I was like “HAHA THIS IS MINE!!” in my head. They serve the pancake with maple syrup of of course and whipping cream and also butter. It was three stack of pancake and it was going to fall so I had to eat them fast! It was of course softer than the normal pancake but it didn’t like melt that fast or literally melts in the mouth. The pancake itself wasn’t that sweet and that is why you need to eat it with the cream and maple syrup. SUPERB COMBINATION. But I think if they serve with ice cream it would be much better. I don’t know is there any other better fluffy pancake than this but I just thought fluffy pancake should just melt in the mouth directly but it was super soft. You dont really need to chew much you know. The price was less than 1000yen so I would say it is affordable. I think I would give 8.5/10. I really hate that I need to wait again after coming there 1 hour earlier cause they make this so limited. I love the sweetness and it was so soft but I think that I had more expectation so a bit disappointment  that it didn’t directly melt but it was super super soft. It was worth it. I love it. I’ll try to hunt more pancakes and other dessert too!!

Here is the menu

last but not least the gram PREMIUM PANCAKE
